What are the Risks of Breast Enlargement Surgery?

Some women choose to have breasts enlargement surgery for many different reasons. One of which is to have the idea body, which includes having large firm breasts instead of small ones. Before any woman makes this decision, there are several things that they should be aware of prior to using this method of breast enlargement as a possible solution.

Listed below are some common risks factors that women should review and evaluate closely before they choose breast enlargement surgery.

People have surgery everyday for all kinds of reasons. Most surgeries involve a wide range of different severe medical problems. From correcting a life-threatening heart problem to removing painful aggravations in the body, most people do not choose to have surgery, the need for surgery chooses them. With breasts enlargement surgery this is not true, this type of surgery is completely by choice instead of a life saving option. Therefore, for those who are looking at this option as a way to look better, it is important that they know about all of the risks involved.

Anesthesia

Even though most health professionals will tell their patients the risks of having medical problems is low, problems do occur. Some patients have a bad reaction to anesthesia and it has caused other medical conditions. In fact, before an anesthesia performs this procedure, their job is to gather the medical history of their patients to ensure no one in the family has had a bad reaction in the past. This information is considered as a major factor before the anesthesia can be administered.

The patient is also instructed to stop eating, specifically the night before the medical procedure is performed. These instructions must be followed as recommended to prevent complications like aspiration pneumonia, which is caused by food backing up in the lungs. This food can prevent the person from breathing.

As stated above, the risks for this procedure is relatively low. However, if the inevitable does occur, the results could be fatal.

Infection

Infection is another risk that comes with breast enlargement surgeries. If women have these problems, they normally occur within the first two months. To correct this condition, the physician may recommend removing the infected implant from the woman’s breasts. Which means, the patient may end up with only one implant and uneven breasts. It is also important to note, this problem cannot be corrected for at least 6 months (i.e. recommended waiting period for having another surgery).

Rupture

After the implant surgery is complete, the implants can rupture. In the 1990′s, these incidents were reported as a huge problem, specifically for women who had the silicon implants. When the silicon implants ruptured, they leaked into the body and caused inflammation.

Today, these problems have been addressed with implants that have thicker shells and saline content. When means, rupture and inflammation concerns have been minimized, but they still exists in another form. Therefore, it is important for women to make informed decision.

Capsular Contracture

The potential for severe pain and fake looking breasts is also a risk for women who want to have the surgery done. If there is going to be a problem, it normally happens immediately after the scar tissue forms around the implant. If the surgeon has used the silicon implants instead of the saline implants, there is a higher risk for capsular contracture. To correct these medical concerns, the implant will have to be removed via another surgical procedure.

HematomaInfections, capsular contracture, ruptures, hematomas are all possibilities. However, one of the most severe and life threatening is the hematomas. Hematomas can be described as blood clots that form in the body after the breast implant surgery. These problems also appear several weeks after the breast enlargement surgery. With hematomas, there is an increase risks of infections and surgery is also needed to correct this medical condition.

Rippling

Even though harmless, rippling is also a risk that can occur after the woman has had breast enlargement surgery. However, many women fear this condition most because the waviness and wrinkles the skin is normally unsightly. This occurs when the saline or the silicone in the implants shift.

Most people around the woman will not notice these problems, unless they are wearing a bathing suit that has the lower-cut tops. In these cases, the nipples can be exposed for anyone around them to see. However, most physicians seek to reduce the risks of rippling in advance by smoothing the implants out and placing them under the muscle during the surgical procedure.

Does the Size of Your Bra Decrease or Increase Your Breast Size?

The bra a woman wears can affect her breasts and posture in many ways. The truth is that 90 percent of women across the globe are actually wearing the wrong size bra. Most women wear a cup size that is too small and a band size that is too large. This can cause numerous problems for the breasts, shoulders, and back.

The first course of action for you to take is to get measured. The problem with this is that there is no standard bra size. Companies tend to have their own sizing chart. Although it may be similar to another company’s, their bras may fit totally different than somewhere else.

The good news is that most department or lingerie stores have an employed fitter. These women are there to make sure that you leave with your perfect fit. Although, it is best to avoid Victoria’s Secret. Many stories have been told about their employees only wanting women to leave with a bra. It does not matter if it is too small (their bras run small).

There is no reason to feel nervous when getting measured. These women are usually hired for their kind and gentle demeanor. Not to mention that they have probably seen every kind of breasts there are. After you have been measured, you will probably be astonished at your true size. Most women think that they are a few cups smaller than what they are. Most women claim that they are a 34 B when in reality they are probably a 34 DD. This has to do with the fact that most stores do not carry large sizes so women will put on these smaller bras not even realizing how uncomfortable they make them.

Your bra does not fit correctly if it rides up in the back. This is a clear sign that the band size you are wearing is too big. Another sign that your bra is too big is if the straps constantly slide off your shoulders. Constantly adjusting your bra is not a good sign that it is the right fit.

A good fitting bra will be snug. It should actually be clasped at the loosest hooks. This is because as the bra gets older, you should be able to tighten it to keep it snug. A snug bra is the only one that will hold up your breasts. If you cannot breathe you have probably gone overboard, but other than that you are good.

The support of a bra does not come from the straps. If you have to tighten your straps all the way down to the band, it is not the right bra. The support of a bra always comes from the band. Also, tightening straps can make them dig into your shoulders, which can actually cause nerve damage and headaches.

Also, to know that you are wearing the right cup size, check the band in the front of the bra. If the band in the middle is not touching your chest, you are wearing a size too small. If there is a gap or air pocket on the inside of the bra, the cup size is too large.

To keep a bra fitting properly, you should wash it correctly. Never put a bra in the washing machine if it is possible. Always hand wash. You should let your bras soak in water, and use a mild soap. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes, and occasionally move them about the water.

When you take them out to dry do not wring the water out of them. Instead place them between a towel and press. After you have finished doing this, make sure the bras are in their original shape, and then let them air dry.

When you put your bras up, do not fold them or place the cups together. Instead lay them flat and place other bras on top in the same position. As you wear them place the one on the top on the bottom. This will keep you alternating through your bras as it is not good for the same one to be worn two days in a row. Keep them in rotation to make them last longer.

Remember that wearing the correct bra size can add to your bust area, thus it is like increasing breast size simply by being informed and taking action.
